Cancellation & Refund Policy

DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of this Refund & Cancellation Policy:

a) “DigiLawyer Platform” refers to all applications, systems, websites, and digital products offered by DigiLawyer. b) “Service” or “Services” refers to all AI tools, legal-tech offerings, consultations, drafting, compliance services, and any other product provided by DigiLawyer. c) “User”, “Customer”, “You” refers to any individual or entity that accesses, registers, or purchases services on the DigiLawyer Platform. d) “Order” refers to any paid request made by a User for any DigiLawyer service. e) “Third-Party Charges” refers to statutory payments, government filing fees, stamp duty, taxes, professional fees, or any charges paid to external bodies.

1. GENERAL POLICY

DigiLawyer aims for complete customer satisfaction. All services are delivered as per the specifications, timelines, and scope shared at the time of purchase.

Refunds are not automatic and are permitted only under specific conditions mentioned in this policy. Users are encouraged to read service descriptions thoroughly before placing an order.

2. ELIGIBILITY FOR REFUND

A refund will be considered only if:

a) Service Deficiency (Valid Refund Case)

There is a proven service deficiency from DigiLawyer’s side, including:

  • Failure to initiate the service despite full payment
  • Failure to deliver the service as per the defined and communicated scope
  • Non-availability of the purchased service

If such deficiency is verified after internal investigation, DigiLawyer may approve a refund subject to the deductions listed in Section 4.

(b) Non-Eligibility for Refund

Refund requests will NOT be accepted in the following scenarios:

  • Change of Mind: If the User no longer wishes to continue with the service after purchase.
  • Work Initiated or Delivered: Once work has begun - including consultations, drafting, research, or document preparation - refunds cannot be issued.
  • Delays Caused by Government or External Systems: Services dependent on government departments, courts, statutory authorities, or third-party platforms may face:
  • Delays
  • Rejections
  • Technical issues
  • Portal downtime
  • Backlogs

Such factors are outside DigiLawyer’s control and do not qualify for refunds.

4. Third-Party Fees Paid: Payments made to government bodies or third-party professionals are non-refundable under any circumstances.

5. Dispute Resolved by Parties: If the issue between parties is resolved amicably after 3 days of payment, no refund will be provided.

3. CANCELLATION POLICY

  • DigiLawyer does not cancel services due to customer change of mind.
  • Upon request, DigiLawyer may hold or pause a service at its discretion.
  • Before approving any refund request, DigiLawyer reserves the right to:
  • Attempt best-effort completion of the service
  • Communicate to resolve concerns
  • Provide alternative solutions where applicable

4. REFUND DEDUCTIONS (IF APPROVED)

A refund will be considered only if DigiLawyer is unable to provide the service after internal investigation. The customer must email the request to justice@digilawyer.ai.

Refund requests raised after 30 days of service completion notification are invalid and will not be considered.

If the refund request is approved, the following deductions will apply:

  • 20% cancellation fee
  • Earned service fee (for the work already completed)
  • Government or third-party fees already paid
  • Payment gateway charges
  • Administrative and processing costs

The remaining balance (if any) will be refunded.

Resolution-Based Refund

  • No refund will be provided if the matter is resolved after 3 days from payment.
  • A refund may be processed if the parties (User and Opposing party) resolve the matter amicably within 3 days of making the payment, provided DigiLawyer has not yet commenced work on the service.
  • If the matter is resolved between  parties (User and Opposing party) amicably after 3 days of payment, the User will not be eligible for any refund.

5. REFUND PROCESS & TIMELINE

  • Refund requests must be sent to justice@digilawyer.ai.
  • DigiLawyer will conduct an internal review and communicate the final decision via email.
  • Approved refunds may take up to 15 business days to reflect in your account.
  • Refunds will be issued only to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.

6. FORCE MAJEURE

DigiLawyer shall not be liable for delay, interruption, or failure of service due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Epidemics or pandemics
  • Fire, flood, or earthquake
  • War, terrorism, or civil unrest
  • Labour strikes or lockouts
  • Policy changes or actions by government authorities
  • Technical failures of government portals or servers

Such events do not qualify the User for a refund.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

DigiLawyer may modify or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Users are encouraged to review the policy periodically.
